Prenatal Care

When can I begin during pregnancy?

You can begin prenatal care at any point in pregnancy! Your first in-person pelvic PT/OT visit can be scheduled around the 12-week mark. It's also ok if you find us later in pregnancy. We will work with you to schedule your in-person care to fit your unique timeline.

Can I use insurance for my in-person care?

We work with you and your insurance provider to determine your cost of care for in-person appointments.

How do I schedule in-person care?

You can schedule your in-person pelvic PT/ OT appointments at any MOJO core location or partner practice. We recommend a minimum of 5 in-person visits spread throughout pregnancy, which are purchased separately. As needed, we can help you work with your insurance provider.

What should I wear to my in-person appointments?

You can wear whatever is comfortable for you, but it wouldn't hurt to wear clothes you can easily move in.

Can I bring my partner, doula, midwife or kids with me?

Absolutely! You can bring anyone you feel comfortable joining your session with you. We can even do partner training. We have kids/babies join sessions regularly. We advise bringing snacks, toys, and/or devices to entertain during your session.

What if I am not having any pain or issues should I still join?

Absolutely! We have structured our prenatal care around specific checkpoints to help ensure that you are not only working on issues, but also learning ways to prevent issues from starting while learning preparation techniques for birth & postpartum.

How often will I need to come in during pregnancy?

During the program, we suggest check-in appointments at 12 weeks, 20 weeks, 32 weeks, 38 weeks and 6-8 weeks postpartum. If you are having active pain or issues you may need extra sessions in addition to those checkpoints.

Each person is unique so your care will be specialized based on your individual needs. In the 3rd trimester, our birth prep protocol begins to prepare the pelvis and pelvic floor for labor, delivery and postpartum recovery. This will allow you a smooth transition into the postpartum period.

What if I start having pain or issues before my scheduled appointment?

You can come in at any time during pregnancy and ESPECIALLY if you start having new symptoms, pain or discomfort. This is what we are here for! You deserve to go through pregnancy with support for any and all issues.

Do I still need to come in if I am having a planned C Section?

Pregnancy in and of itself is a huge shift in posture, stability and strength. It impacts how you do daily tasks & bodily functions. Getting support during pregnancy is key for preparing and setting yourself up for a smooth postpartum recovery.

It is a common misconception that C-sections don’t impact the pelvic floor. When in fact, incontinence, pelvic pain, back pain, pain with intimacy, etc. can occur without care and support after C-section births. This is not to alarm you, but to encourage you that you are entitled to support and care for all methods of delivery.

What if I need to cancel my scheduled appointment?

We understand things can come up, but keep in mind that your reserved appointment time is a priority for your overall plan of care. It is time that your therapist has reserved for specifically for you. If you must cancel, please do so with more than 24 hours notice so that we can hopefully fill that appointment time with another patient.

If notice is less than 24 hours or there is a no show / no call appointment, there will be a $35 late cancel fee applied to your account.

What if I can't do in-person care?

That's ok! That is exactly why we created our Virtual Birth Prep Program. You can access the expertise and support of MOJO Pelvic Health online. The Birth Prep Program allows you to access prenatal workouts, live Q&A sessions and our online Birth Prep course.

How do I cancel my membership?

We are confident that you will find amazing resources and support in the Birth Prep program. However, we also know you won't be pregnant forever. Our hope is that you choose to stay with our program into the postpartum period to connect to our community and resources to help you transition into motherhood and fully recover. You are welcome to stay as long as you need care and support.

You can cancel your membership’s renewal anytime—just opt-out in your account settings located in the Birth Prep course found at mojo-flo.com in “My Library”. If something doesn’t feel right or is a barrier, please reach out to us at [email protected]. We are here to help!
